You won’t want to miss out on these trends if you’re planning a kitchen remodel this year!
- Black is back, baby.
Black never goes out of style…we all know that, BUT it is definitely showing up a lot more in kitchen cabinetry this year. Even beyond that, black stainless steel appliances have been all the range the past couple of years and LG just created a “fingerprint free” line of black appliances!
- Ceramic “wood-look” Tile Flooring
The most typical flooring in a kitchen is hardwood, but ceramic tile that looks like wood is the second most chosen material. These have come a looooong way and look so similar to wood, it will make you do a double take!
- Deep, moody colors
White cabinetry will always be a classic in my book. But this year, we will see some really dark tones in the kitchen, especially in the fixtures!

It’s here whether you like it or not, people. We are automating so many things and your kitchen faucet is definitely one of them. Moen has a great hands-free faucet that has a sensor which turns it off and on. It’s actually pretty sweet!
- Quartz Countertops and Single level islands
So Quartz has held the lead in countertop material for quite some time. It’s the easiest material to take care of and is naturally very strong. The colors and patterns are becoming more and more realistic as the years past.
Another big trend is to create an island that is single level and can function as a multipurpose space. Cooking, eating, homework, baking….you name it!
OK, I know what you’re thinking: trends come and go so why plan my remodel around these? Well, that’s not quite the case. It’s important to pay attention to trends and incorporate elements of what is in style, not exactly copying these trends look for look.
